Identifying My Protagonist
Protagonist: Samantha Scott, a 20-year-old, blue eyed college student at Sacramento state university
Samantha Scott is 5’3 and about a 130 pounds, she is thin and is a C cup in bra size. Her hair is long just under her shoulders and her natural hair color is a light brown tent but she often dyes it a strawberry red color. She has gorgeous sky blue eyes that show ones reflection when you look into them. Her favorite shoes to wear are grey converse (low tops) but she likes any kind of converse shoes. She likes to dress in apparel that is simple, like jeans and a t-shirt, usually t-shirts with graphic designs on them. Her nationality/ race is white/Caucasian; she has a little tan to her. She has thin and well-arched eyebrows that she gets professionally done when she can afford it.
She has smooth and soft skin that feels like a baby’s bottom, and a smile that can brighten up someone’s day. She has two siblings both younger than her. A little sister and brother, her sister is her dads and her stepmother’s child and her brother is her fathers and mothers child. Her parents are divorced but still share a friendly bound, they are both remarried. Samantha being the oldest is the first to attend college. She attends Sacramento State University and she is a 2nd year with the plan to graduate fall of 2012. She stays on campus in the residential halls (dorms), in Draper hall first floor, room 107.
She has dated the same boy for the past 4 years, since she was a sophomore in high school. When she first started dating her boyfriend he was a senior, one year older then her in age. Her boyfriend is black and white mixed, he’s quite tall and is very muscular and a little on the hairy side. Her boyfriend also attends Sacramento State but he doesn’t live on campus so he has to commute from home. She and her boyfriend are both from Davis, which is a 20-30 min, commute to Sacramento state university.
Samantha is very friendly and fun to be around, she has a lot of friends. She has a new friend she just met that lives in the same hall she does as well as on the same floor, just a couple doors down. Her new friend is Marcy, but unlike her other friends Marcy is a Lesbian and is very proud about it. That’s what attracts Samantha to her the most is that she is very comfortable with herself. Samantha has always been straight from as long as she can remember but for some reason she is extremely attracted to Marcy.
Samantha can be very flirtatious at times and touchy feely but not with everyone, only with Marcy. Although Samantha is confused she seems to know what she is doing when it comes to being around Marcy. Samantha often worries about what people think of her and what people say. She’s afraid of being judged by peers and even by her own family. She has a good heart, and is prone to doing the right thing even if it will hurt her in the end. Samantha, although very nice, plays the role of a victim all to well, which in turn leaves the one she truly cares about fending for herself.
Protagonist struggle: Samantha is having trouble identifying her sexuality while holding on to a man who loves her, and yearning for the affections of another women.
Antagonist force: Is societies view on sexuality and how it is wrong to like a member of the same sex and Samantha fighting her inner desire, which is wanting to pursue her female crush.
